Thank you everyone for attending the 2012 convention!
The Convention was a huge success. With attendees from across Alberta braving the weather and road conditions. The atmosphere inside the Westerner was cheery and warm. We had a mostly new complement of Convention Team and everyone worked well together having fun and doing our best to meet the needs of Convention attendees and Vendors.
Handouts from a few of the sessions are available online just click on the link. The Exhibit hall was full and represented a variety of vendors from across Canada. Something else to look for is links to the vendors who were present, on our website under Vendor Database. We will be working to get the links to their information prepared and up on the website.
Workshops put on by Vendors were popular as well as sessions presented by our Keynote Speaker Tracy Klicka who gave very heart touching talks. Sessions on High school and Raising Confident Children appeared to be very popular as well. Paul Faris from HSLDA was highly spoken of as his talks and information was found to be inspiring and useful.
The Wiens family hosted a very successful Children’s program with over 270 children and 50 volunteers. The program had a speaker a fossil dig pit , games, bounce structures and much more.
As always Conventions rely on an active body of volunteers and this year was no exception. If you helped out in any way we are truly grateful. If you are interested in getting involved with next year’s convention where we feature Voddie Baucham as our Keynote I would encourage you to contact us we would love your help.
Convention 2013 will be held April 12 & 13 in Red Deer. We are thrilled to welcome you and invite you to come and bring your friends to enjoy and learn from Voddie and all the speakers we will gather to help you in this journey of home education.
